InsSciDE project gets extended to June 2022!
We are delighted to officially announce that the InsSciDE project has been extended to June 2022!
These extra seven months will allow us to further cement InsSciDE’s legacy in an era of high need for science diplomacy tools and understanding, and will bring a new program of events convening scholars, experts and practitioners in interdisciplinary fora.
Coming up: InsSciDE will host Open Conferences in Erlangen, Lisbon and Paris; (closed) thematic workshops by work packages Security and Space; and an exclusive bonus event in Warsaw for alumni of InsSciDE training programs! While monitoring the health situation including travel restrictions, we are hoping to convene the meetings in person and with some hybrid elements.
You can already save the dates for the Open Conferences below!
- Open Conference Erlangen – 24-26 November 2021 – will dissect science diplomacy as an ‘intercultural encounter’, positioning humanities and social sciences at the forefront. Discussions will inspire concepts for teaching communication among diverse ’cultures’, including scientific, diplomatic, and engineering cultures.
- Open Conference Lisbon – 9-11 March 2022 – will focus on science diplomacy personnel and practices with a spotlight on academies of sciences and technology.
- Concluding Conference Paris – 23-24 June 2022 – will serve as the grand finale of the project, showcasing project results, envisioning concrete future actions and continued research, and integrating working groups of the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance for in-depth topical discussions.
The new timeframe also means that several key results and resources – including a proposal for adopting an EU science diplomacy strategy; InsSciDE’s Library of Case Studies and a collection of training materials inspired by the Warsaw Science Diplomacy School – will be revealed in spring 2022.
Look out for updates and public event registration in the near future!
